This does not require a DV certified prebuilt PC/laptop Now there are problems with the Win 8 Plex app that it's so old - if you click a title that's in a collection it will error and you can't play unless you remove it from the collection - missing new features - etc You can then play HDR + Dolby Vision (DV profile 8 and 5 only - and only in mp4 container, not mkv - color accuracy isn't perfectionist perfect IIRC but casual use good enough, but RPU effects are processed/displayed with this - which is the more apparent and important thing to me, personally - TV also won't kick into DV mode either with this setup - part of why color is off with this I believe) in Win Store apps like default Movies & TV app and old Win 8 Plex app (No for VLC Win Store app with DV) - haven't tried others.
